We were really happy with our decision to use a known donor, and that has translated to current great comfort with how our family is structured, but I know other people have exactly the same comfort and feeling of rightness with a sperm bank donor. Ultimately, there are major pros and cons to both, and I am really happy that in this country we have all of the options available to us, including variants like completely anonymous and ID-release. I think what matters is that you do what seems like the right thing for you, so that when your kids ask questions, you are completely comfortable in answering them. I don't think it's anyone else's business besides yours and your kids'. Ditto meds - I'm so delighted the options are there for us all if we need them.
