and it begins
My dear aunt flo arrived this morning. It came early, too, now that I’m not taking femara – my luteal phase was only ~9 days (one of the shortest luteal phases I’ve ever had) and this cycle lasted only 20 days. So, tomorrow, I have blood tests in the morning to recheck my FSH and estradiol levels as well as to have my prolactin checked. Then, on Saturday night, I start the birth control pills.

Oh, good luck! We are so excited for you and look forward to hearing how it all goes!
How do you calculate luteal phase, by the way? I think I’ve come across a lot of different methods!

Thanks, y’all.
BBM, I don’t know what my schedule is yet, other than that I’m taking the BCPs for at least 2 weeks before starting lupron. I need to let my IVF coordinator know and then she will set out the whole schedule.

Thanks, Guinevere! I calculate luteal phase as being the day after I ovulate through the day before I get my period. I don’t know what the other ways are … What have you seen?

I’ve seen counting all the BBT above the coverline (my temperature usually takes another day after ovulation to rise, so that shortens by one for me) and I’ve also had a fertility doctor (albeit an incompetent one?) count the days after the positive LH surge, raising the count.
I think the way you’re suggesting is reasonable!
If one has a shortish luteal phase then subtracting a day can mean the difference between “short end of normal” and “maybe not long enough to sustain implantation” so it definitely does matter how one counts, to me!
